The group in Rumenia informs us that they do not have funds to visit Finland. The English group has sent us a leaflet, but no further communications. They do however come to the Finnish meeting. The leaflet they sent has to be translated and adapted for the Dutch audience. When the leaflet has been printed we can hand it out to interested parties.

4. Visit to Finland. We do agree with most of the proposed program for the visit to Finland. However, we do propose to have same time on Wednesdaymorning, to discuss the activities of the different studygroups and to exchange results and answer questions. Two ladies of our group prefer not to visit the historic site of the 19th century war (1808) between Finland and Russia. Ridi wants to present a small exposé about the plans in Amersfoort to install living-service area’s. Isabel will take with her fotographs of her living community on a USB stick. There were further questions about where the participants will stay in Finland and if the receiving group does expect contributions by us. Henri shall communicate these matters to the Finnish group.

After the visit some of us will give a presentation about the visit in the meeting of senior people in the Trefpunt.

5. Questions in the most recent report from Hungary. The questions in the report of the group from Hungary have tot be addressed by us. Johan and Ridi will finish the concept of Ridi about these questions and then send it to the Hungarian group or publish it on the website.

Report of the fourth “Futeurope” study circle meeting in Debrecen, Hungary

May 17th, 2008

Topic: Scale of values

Rozika and Éva (Sasi) made a presentation in the theme of scale of values.

The objectives which affect an individual’s value:
• Family,(first of all values of the parents)
• Values approved by the society
• Ideology approved by the individual
• The approved idol
• Information and impressions earn during the whole life
The individual absorb/prepare the information, knowledge, impressions by means of their own ideological filter. This “ideological filter” can be religious, political, or view of life provided by a followed idol.

Values change by age – in its historical meaning – and groups of people of different age. For example the values were totally different 50-60 years ago from nowadays. Values of a teenage person are also different from values of that same person at the age of 30.

Our world’s values –“thanks to consumers’ society” are quite financial-centered. Apparently everything can be bought: beauty, health, relations. The media is full up with advertisings and commercials which promote products as very important things and they make people feel that life is useless without them.

The necessity emerges, that schools should let students know higher moral values. But this is be very difficult for teachers who sometimes even get injured by their own students. It seems that our social morality is low. While we are hunting material goods, we forget about more important things than money.

There is not enough emphase in our socially accepted values on an environment-aware attitude. Lot of people throw rubbish on the street and people are affraid to tell them off. Different types of household rubbish are not collected in a separate way, even if the conditions are guaranteed for this.

We also misunderstand the meaning of liberty. “Nobody tells me what to do or not to do.”
• do not throw the rubbish
• do not break the sapling
• do not harm my teachers
• do not consider stupid the honest people
• ect.

What does exactly the order mean?

The order: grouping the objects according to some point of view, and following laws and regulations. Order has an own culture. Order is an art. Order is a religion, and their believers believe that if there is an order around them, their life would be easier.
Does anything guide the order in our world or this is only human ability? We can not know the answer. We equip our world with regulations, habits and laws to know our way around.
The order of various people, cultures, ideologies are all different, they often conflict with others, and moreover destroy each other.
In the course of our history the order is received by written and unwritten regulations. Wars and revolutions were begun in terms of order and holocaust.

The internal order of the people is very important:
If somebody has order in himself/herself that creates order around him/her. If somebody has chaos in himself/herself generates chaos in his/her environment.
The group looks through together the reports of the other countries on the forth study circle.
The fifth study circle will be on 22 May 2008 at 2 pm. Topic: Conflict.  Éva (Győri) will make a small presentation on the theme and she will be the team leader.
