Present: Henri Braakenburg, Coen van Baggum, , Johan Riemersma, Maria Storsbergen, Isabel Terpstra, Ridie Vos, Lenie Nebbeling, Gerbert Rebel.
Not present (with notification): Bertie Linschoten.
Meeting in the communal room of the residential complex 55+ Bloemendaalse Buitenkade 11.
1.Opening No changes to the agenda.
2.Report meeting 25th June 2008.
The leaflet is still not printed. Henri has tried to contact the English about this, but until now no result. Henri will contact Leena about the pictures of our visit to Finland.
3. Incoming mail, web-reports partner countries.
Website: Henri has published some stuff on it. Some members have still difficulties in opening the FutEurope website. Henri will look into this matter. The English want to know whether 24-27 March is suitable for out visit to England in 2009.
4. Announcements and asking around.
Maria wants to know, what to prepare for our visit to Debrecen, Hungary. This will be discussed separately. Isabel will write an informative article about Futeurope. Coen wants to present some information in the Senior Council of Amersfoort. The chairman of that council (Heyman Hooyer) will visit us in one of the next meetings.
5. Retrospect meeting with seniors in the Trefpunt.
Henri presented background information about Futeurope. Some of the participants suggested to close the project with an advisory paper for the EC. Henri will also make a manual on how to start groups like this Futeurope group.
6. Preparation visit Hungary.
There is still no program for this visit. Henri will ask them about this. Departure October 7th, to Budapest October 10th. As discussion theme it is proposed to discuss the care for the elderly in Hungary. On the “Scale of values” discussionpaper” Johan will prepare a concept about these and related issues we are interested in.
7. Preparation questions guest from the Senior Council.
Berti will invite him. Questions can be: personnel policies of companies with regard elder people; loneliness; the 70th year limit for admittance to communal group housing; living service areas; invisibility of the Senior Council for people in the street.
8. Brainstorm closing meeting in Amersfoort mid 2009.
Isabel has prepared with Coen a number of possible activities: visit to a communal housing group; drinking coffie in “Hemels” (a senior meeting point); visiting a living service area facility; visiting a (mostly) senior volunteers project like canal boats, city guides; computer support for the elderly et cetera.
The whole organisation should be divided in packages for two persons each. A central theme could be the passing through of traditions from the elderly to the youngsters. If possible some kind of symposium should be organised to end up with an advice to the EC. Johan proposes to prepare the visitors from abroad by sending them the virtual city walks. The Mayor has to be invited also, as some other very important persons. Some coordination with the city activities around the celebration of 750th years of city rights (bishop of Utrecht granted them) seems wise.
Dates are 13 and 14th June, with possible an extra day?
A budget has to be decided upon. Some locations for the meeting have been mentioned.
Isabel and Coen will make a further proposal.
6. Closing.

| Comments on differences or similarites in relation to care for older people in Finland with that of England | |
| DifferencesThere seem to be a much wider range of FREE educational and interest activities. Charges for medicines and Health Service. Medicines dispensed in daily dosage packages?? not just in bulk packs. | SimilaritiesGraded care dependant on need, from independant through supported to total care. Telecare options available. The document seems to indicate that Community Care is the prefered option |
| Questions: |
| 1. How are Care Homes monitored for conditions and standards? |
| 2. Are generations living together at home supported by authority – either by payment or incentive - as independent living is? |
| 3. Do the Senior Councils consist of any service users? |
| The maximum payment for ‘communal health care’ is €590 per calendar year, after that non institutional care is free of charge4. Does the €590 cover health needs such as dentistry, hospitalisation, operations, etc? |
| 5. Is normal transport free, similar to the ‘Concessionary Travel’ scheme? |
